This wine takes its character predominantly from two distinct grapes. Unusually, Petit Verdot takes the lead in this blend. The deep purple color, earthy base, and vibrant blackcurrant aromas-that's the Petit Verdot.
The next thing you notice is brighter fruit notes of blackberry and raspberry with a slightly spicy quality. This is the Zinfandel we sourced from the Mokelumne River region in Southwestern Lodi, and when combined with the Petit Verdot make a blend that has incredibly wide appeal.
Blend 808 is great for parties where tastes vary and especially good with either BBQ or braised meats that will make the fruit lift off when paired together.
Our golden Chardonnay is brimming with refreshing fruit flavors and a zippy acidity—a straightforward take on a grape that is too often over-oaked and over-extracted.
Paso Robles has atypical "Chardonnay soils," but the ideal "Chardonnay climate." The warm days and cool nights produce a wine with medium body weight that is still refreshing.
The Hawthorne Grove Chardonnay will pair very well with umami-rich foods. Seafood, chicken, and pasta are the typical choices, but this is a versatile wine ready for almost any occasion.
